Learning German can be challenging especially when you have to think about many things at the same time, such as residence permits, finding a job or integrating into everyday life. But don't worry: with the right support and a well-structured learning plan, it is possible to progress from A1 to B1 in just 15 weeks.
In our online courses, we guide you step by step and help you to progress quickly and effectively. Our learning methods are based on Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) - an internationally recognized system for grading language skills. What does A1, B1 or C1 actually mean?
Here is a brief overview of what you should be able to do and at what level:
- A1 - A2You learn to find your way in simple everyday situations - e.g. when shopping, at the doctor's or when traveling. Short conversations with neighbors or colleagues are also possible.
- B1 - B2You can assert yourself better in the world of work, take part in job interviews, write professional emails and actively participate in conversations - e.g. about family, leisure or professional topics.
- C1 - C2You can communicate at a high linguistic level, understand scientific texts, participate in discussions without difficulty and express yourself professionally both orally and in writing.
Why is this important?
If you want to apply for a residence permit or a work permit in Germany, it is often necessary to provide proof of a certain language level - usually at least B1. For many professions or an apprenticeship, even B2 Prerequisite.
Tip: The better your German language skills, the easier your everyday life in Germany will be - whether you're visiting the authorities, at work or talking to colleagues.
