Support for young people. Istanbul cultural tour through Germany

As JIG we are proud to have supported the second study trip of the Faculty of Law of Istanbul Kültür University from Istanbul to Germany and France from July 6 to 19, 2024. This initiative enabled 20 students, under the guidance of Efser Erden Tütüncü and Muharrem Tütüncü, to gain valuable international experience and expand their legal knowledge.

Special recognition goes to Dr. Akif Hilal Öztürkwhose tireless commitment and organizational talent contributed significantly to the success of this trip. As a former DAAD lecturer at Istanbul Kültür University, Dr. Öztürk has initiated and implemented numerous projects to promote German-Turkish academic cooperation.

Highlights of the trip:

• Heidelberg: Participation in a seminar on environmental criminal law in cooperation with the chair of Prof. Dr. Dannecker, supplemented by cultural activities such as a steamboat trip on the Neckar and a guided tour of the city.
• Karlsruhe: Visits to the Federal Court of Justice and the Office of the Federal Public Prosecutor General with discussions with Dr. Grube and Mr. Nettersheim on the tasks and challenges of these institutions.
• Strasbourg: Three-day stay with visits to the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights, including exchanges with lawyers.
• Freiburg: Insights into the university's Master's and doctoral programs by Prof. Dr. Schäfer as well as a lecture by Dr. Götz Reichert, LL.M., from the Centre for European Politics on the structures and tasks of the European Union.

This trip underlines our commitment to offering young people the opportunity to look beyond their own horizons and gain international experience.
